A good leg workout for sure, Angels Landing proves to be an acrophobiac's godsend of a treatment center, or perhaps his or her worst nightmare. this is some stuff about stuff being stuff
Bryce is a great stopping place along a national parks, or otherwise adventurous, road trip in that it is less crowded and one can get all the best sights a 2 minute walk from the car. This allows for some enjoyable rest, but that doesn't mean there isn't much more to see only available via some extra effort hiking down and up the snaking trails among the hoodoos.
A seldom visited park of Utah relative to the high volumes of Zion, Capitol Reef has much more to offer beyond the quaint mormon settlement and delicious home made pies. Getting into the backcountry of Capitol Reef, surprisingly vast in its reach, with one climb of any ridge one is as if suddenly dropped in a moonscape only accessible on foot or NASA martian rover. Sights and sounds, or rather the lack of sounds, many who visit this park will never see unless they get out into the desolate areas of the park, and luckily, it is really as easy said as is done.
With relatively few bushes around to be rustled by the wind and the only wildlife being a squished scorpion beneath the tent one morning makes for a level of silence rarely experienced.
